Sound blasts – blaze stops

A fire extinguisher that uses sound waves

This era is all about inventions. Lots and lots of inventions are creaming up. One such invention brought up by the students from the George Mason University -Viet Tran and Seth Robertson is a new type of a fire extinguisher.

Now, this is no ordinary device for, this device uses sound waves to put out fire. Its like an instant fire suppression system that uses speakers to put out flames. Works best when sound waves are of low frequency – the one like bass hip hop type!

Its build developed for around $400 is hand held and can be used as a substitute for water or chemical dousers. Now this can be very helpful as it can be used to put off forest fires and since sound waves can be directed without gravity, this device can be used in SPACE too. Even though its a great invention, the two engineering students are still working hard to patent the invention as there’s already the US defense agency with such systems.
