Here comes Android One
Google launched its Android One in India via. Micromax, Karbonn & Spice. It launched three great smartphones in this category- Karbon Sparkle V, Micromax Canvas A1, and Spice Dream UNO.The Dream UNO is the cheapest at INR 6,299 ($103), while the Sparkle V costs INR 6,399 ($105) and the Canvas A1 costs INR6,499 ($106) and they’re all procurable at different online stores. . The Karbonn Sparkle V will be sold on Snapdeal, the Micromax Canvas V1 through Amazon, and the Spice Dream UNO through Flipkart.
All the three phones feature a 4.5- inch 854×480 resolution IPS display, MediaTek MT6582 SoC with 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU and Mali 400 MP2 GPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage space with microSD card slot, 5 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, FM radio, dual SIM support, and replaceable 1,700mAh battery.
The only differences they have is in their designs and software enhancements which are minor ones. he best thing about these phones is all the three are run on the latest android version 4.4.4. With One, Google can manage the software updates directly, ensuring a much better, less fragmented experience for two years (after launch).
Also, google has extended its negotiations with Airtel-India’s biggest mobile carrier. That counts the Airtel users will be able to download the updates for Free (yes! no data cost) for the first 6 months and they’re also engaged to download apps worth 200Mb from google store every month for FREE!
Now, there’s one more thing… Google android one users will be able to download + watch youtube videos being offline something which is not yet gettable on any android device till date. Now, thats amazing.
Lastly, Google made it clear that One phones will be in the first wave of devices to get the anticipated Android L update — in a similar way to how Nexus handsets currently do.
India is full of potential. Full of people like you, ready to leave your mark. Today Google has launched it in India and eventually has planned to launch it in other countries too by the end of this year 2k15. Android one seems to be a great initiative by Google. But in a place where Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Moto E exist (which are similarly priced and have better specs) the competition seems to be quite tough. Well lets hope for the best and see what fate has in store for Google’s Android One.
